SAD in Chicago has me aching for MichFest. It's soothing to pop in lo-fi(ction) and hear your familiar voice. I hope you are getting a break after being on the road for so long. Take it easy!
Hugs,

hey Malcolm,

My hiking partner and I stayed in the freezing cold AT Hiker Barn in Gorham with you and Chris...hope your finish to the journey was amazing!

Strider and I had a horrific night hike over Madison in the Whites, and decided to save the last 493 miles for the summer when the risk of dying via exposure is less.

it was nice chatting with you about the two Portlands.

malcolm! HI! It's been a year (or longer now, has it been?) since we last said "hello!" I've traveled back to NC, now living in Asheville. I'm a worker-owner of a cooperative anarchist bookstore/venue/cafe thing (Firestorm Cafe and Books). I live in a yurt, did I say that? Things are great. I don't play violin so much now, but would love love love to see you this side of the mississippi soon-- I hope you'll stop through NC on the bike tour! You have a place to stay in Asheville, for sure. Please I'd love to catch up, and explain myself for leaving PDX in the tornado that I did. yep yep, sending you thoughts and hopes and stuff.
--long lost friend, radio!

Good day Malcolm!
Yes, I think today is a good day on your trip. Beautiful sunny weather and your gonna see what I think is the most beautiful stretch of the Oregon coast, between Yachats and Florence. Please be careful !
Ok, I saw you yesterday in Newport/Nye Beach at a coffee house and then later at Cafe Mundo for the open mic. I thoroughly enjoyed your music. I have never heard a more passionate vocalist. I'm glad I got your CD so I can read the lyrics and find out what you are so passionate about !
So, I am the guy that gave you a CD. I do understand that to carry it with you is not practical so please, if you want to give it away please do. As long as someone somewhere gets to hear it.
keep having a fun safe trip.
bye for now, greg

I was at Kimya's Off the Sauce show and I just wanted to tell you that I was truly touched by your music. I related to so many things you said, and you should know that you really are helping people.

I saw you at Kimya's off the sauce bash yesterday, and I really loved your music and everything you said. I also was so impressed with how good the songs you made up on the spot were... I wished that you weren't making them up so that I could listen to them on a CD. You should record yourself making up songs...
I hope you come back to new york and have your own concert soon.

fly safe.

I just wanted to comment on your posting re: Anna Ballarian. I had the pleasure of getting to know her thru her friend, Alice Bradshaw. We spent many holidays together at the Bradshaw house and one of my favorite memories of Anna is a beautiful watercolor painting she gave me for my wedding. It was wrapped in an "oh-so-Anna" way ... fabric she had handpainted. Much better than plain old wrapping paper. Anna always had a way of entertaining all of us from age 6 to 80. She could find something of interest for anyone in our group. What a dear, dear woman.
